I read about 100 threads and yet to find the same problem, could someone point me right? Is every problem so cut and dry with all the 300z’s, I have a 1990 300 zx TT.
OEM Bose Radio – Replaced 2-3 months ago with another OEM Bose Radio, which I have the old one in my garage which is most likely good!
According to my son, before he gave me the car you would turn on the Bose original radio it would squeal! He took it to a very high class car stereo shop (North NJ) which he did not tell me the name. He wanted to keep the Bose system so they told him they would have to rebuild the entire system ---- Lots & lots of bucks! This was about 2-3 months ago! I turned on the radio yesterday to here the exact same sound! No matter how many times I turned the car/radio off & on the sound was steady!
About a week ago I removed the radio to install an inline Sirius connection, but stopped when I seen the Bose had a duel antenna connection!
Now I did see that they left a ground cable not connected to ground! So of course I hooked it to ground! But what’s get me is it’s been working fine for a week?
OK so first thing I will disconnect that ground!
Now any other ideas that I may do to solve my problem?

UPDATE: Now again this morning I just went out to rip the radio out it works fine!
(Before re-moving the ground I hooked up a week ago!)
This seems to be the same type of problem as my speed sensor sometimes its works sometimes it don’t? (Still testing speed sensor, was not near car when friend cleaned it, so I did not meter it!) (Today is sunny here in North NJ till noon, so radio and Speedometer should work fine till after lunch, I hear were in for a storm!)
Newbie To 300’z, is this all the fun I’ve been hearing about?
PS: Just got a Z32 Body Repair Manual & 1990 Service Manual today if anyone in North NJ wants to borrow it, as soon as you help me fix my intermittent problems!
